Gusto umanong marinig ng tao kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa kanyang huling State of the Nation Address (SONA) kung paano babangon ang ekonomiya ng bansa at kung paano makalagpas ang bansa sa pandemya sa kanyang huling 12 buwan sa tanggapan, ayon kay Senate Majority Leader Migz Zubiri.
“The SONA is fast approaching and it will be a significant event as it would be the President’s last State of the Nation Address for his term,” sabi ni Zubiri sa isang statement.
“Being his final address to the nation it would be good for the President to highlight all the achievements of his administration from the last five years including the Legislative highlights as well as infrastructure and programs of Government,” dagdag pa nito.
“People would also like to hear his Build, Build, Build program and how far have they completed these infrastructure projects,” ayon kay Zubiri.
“But what the people truly want to hear from our nation’s Leader is what he will do to keep our economy afloat and how he will try to help our country survive this dreadful pandemic in his last twelve months of office,” lahad pa nito.
Subalit dapat din umanong banggitin ni Duterte sa kanyang huling SONA sa Hulyo 26 ang gagawing hakbang para mababa ang Covid-19 at kung paano matutulungan ang mga Pilipinong makabangon mula kahirapan.
“It would be good as well if the President can outline the remaining Legislative priorities needed to help him push for the end of the Pandemic and poverty eradication,” ani Zubiri.
“The senators will listen intently to the President’s remaining legislative requests and discuss it amongst ourselves in a Caucus that we traditionally call for the day after the SONA,” sambit nito.
