“Like everybody else, we are cautiously encouraged by the recent developments. We still have to wait and see whether recent developments will translate into sustained serious committed effort towards denuclearization because I think we all agree that the ultimate goal is complete denuclearization,” ayon kay Kim.
“I think it is too early to make definitive judgement but to the extent that the two Koreas and the United States, to that extent that there is serious diplomatic effort, I think that is quite positive,” dagdag ng ambassador.
“With regards to the US role, again I think there’s very strong consensus that it was the maximum pressure campaign that has led to North Koreans to reach out for diplomacy. And as you know the US was very much the driver on the global maximum pressure campaign,” pahayag ni Kim.
“So I think it’s important that even as we diligently, vigorously pursue diplomatic opportunities that we work with the international community to maintain the pressure campaign because until we actually see concrete progress, we should not relax,” dagdag pa nito.
