Halos 300,000 Pilipino na nabigyan ng unang dose ng Sputnik V ang kinakabahan na mawalan na ito ng bisa laban sa COVID-19 dahil wala pa rin ang kanilang second dose.
Ayon kay Deputy Speaker at Cagayan de Oro Rep. Rufus Rodriguez, mahigit 12,000 ng kanyang constituents ang nabigyan ng unang dose ng Sputnik V at naka-schedule na mabigyan ng second dose noong Hulyo.
“It is now September and there is still no supply,” sabi ni Rodriguez. “I suppose this sense of fear, anxiety and uncertainty is shared by the more than 270,000 other Filipinos who had no choice but to take the Russian vaccine because that was the one delivered to vaccination centers like those in Cagayan de Oro by the Department of Health.”
Sumulat na si Rodriguez kina Health Secretary Francisco Duque lll at Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez upang umapela para sa second dose ng Sputnik V.
“Our constituents were forced to take Sputnik V because no other vaccine was available. But now they are in limbo and in fear. The government has left them hanging,” punto ni Rodriguez.
Kung wala umanong darating na Sputnik V dapat sabihin ng otoridad kung ano ang dapat na gawin ng mga nakatanggap ng unang dose.
“They should say so if our people will get Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, or another jab as their second shot, or if they would repeat their vaccination all over again,” dagdag pa ng solon.
