Maghahain si Senadora Risa Hontiveros ng isang resolusyon para paimbestigahan sa Senado ang nangyaring ‘misencounter’ sa pagitan ng Philippine National Police (PNP) at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) sa Quezon City noong Miyerkoles ng gabi.
“We need to look into this further. It is very alarming that this is not the first time that such a ‘misencounter’ has happened,” sabi ni Hontiveros.
“The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) did admit that this has happened numerous times. These ‘misencounters’ should be rare, not common,” dagdag nito.
Kinumpirma naman ni Senador Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa na ikakasa nila ang pagdinig sa araw ng Martes.
“I am going to conduct an inquiry in aid of legislation relative to that incident this coming Tuesday,” pahayag ni Dela Rosa, chairman ng Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs.
Nangyari ang insidente sa Commonwealth Avenue sa Quezon City.
Ayon sa Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 6, nagsagsagawa ang District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) ng drug buy-bust operation malapit sa Ever Gotesco Mall.
Subalit hindi umano alam ng DSOU team na ang katransaksiyon nila ay mga Special Enforcement Service (SES) agents ng PDEA.
“How could this have happened at all, in the first place? Why did the shootout take place for as long as an hour? Hindi ba puwedeng magkalinawan, even within the first few minutes, that a misencounter breaks out?” tanong nito.
“There was a dramatic lack of coordination between the PNP and PDEA. Someone somewhere must have been grossly negligent. Ang laki ng intelligence funds nila pareho pero ganyan ang nangyari,” sambit pa nito patungkol sa P856 milyong intelligence fund ng PNP at P500 milyon naman sa PDEA.
