Marami mang hindi pinagkasunduan, hindi pa rin nawawala ang pagkakaibigan nina Dwight Howard at Kobe Bryant.
Nadurog ang puso ni Howard nang malaman ang balita ng pagpanaw ng kanyang dating Lakers teammate na si Kobe dahil sa helicopter crash.
“A lot of people thought that me and Kobe hated each other and stuff like that. There were times where we just didn’t understand each other,” ayon kay Howard matapos ang 129-102 blowout win ng Lakers kontra Spurs. “You know, I didn’t get a chance to tell him how appreciative I was for our time together. “And (how) thankful, you know, I was to be back here in LA and stuff like that.”
Dagdag pa nito, nais niya sanang patunayan kay Kobe na kaya niyang tulungan ang Lakers sa abot nang kanyang makakaya, patunay sa career resurgence nito na nag-aaverage ng 7.5 points at 7.7 rebounds sa title contender.
“All year long I just wanted to show him that I would do whatever it takes to help this team,” aniya pa.
Dinagdag pa ng 2008 NBA Slam Dunk champion, na sasali ulit ngayong taon sa nasabing event, na nais niya sanang makasama si Kobe sa pagdakdak
“I wore his shoes since the season started. I wanted him in the dunk contest. You, know all these things. And just to see him go away, just like that.”
