Inilabas na ng Marvel ang bagong Filipino-American superhero nito upang ipagdiwang ang 80th anniversary ni “Captain America”.
Makikilala ang Fil-Am college student na si Ari Agbayani sa fourth installment ng “The United States of Captain America” series sa September.
Kabilang si Agbayani sa apat sa “local” Captain Americas na makaka-engkuwentro ni Steve Rogers at mga dating Captain America na sina Bucky Barnes, Sam Wilson at John Walker sa paghahanap ng ninakaw na shield.
Likha ito ng half-Filipina na si Alyssa Wong at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles artist Jodi Nishijima.
Ayon sa Marvel, si Agbayani ay isang scholarship student sa isang maliit at pribadong unibersidad.
Nang malaman niyang inaapi ang best friend niya ng mayayamang estudyante, determinado siyang itama ito.
“Like the other Caps, Ari has a strong sense of justice and admires the ideals Captain America embodies. But the Captain America she’s inspired by isn’t Steve Rogers — it’s Bucky Barnes,” anang Marvel.
“Someone who hates bullies as much as Steve does, but is willing to use sneakier, shadier tactics to deal with them. Ari’s a vigilante, and she knows that you can’t always win by playing by the rules. Bucky’s influence is reflected in her costume, designed by the incredible Jodi Nishijima,” dagdag nito.
