Walang nakikitang mali si Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año sa mga tarpaulin na binabatikos ang mga komunistang grupo.
“The expressions of sentiment against the CPP-NPA-NDF atrocities are free speech and are legally protected under the Constitution,” napaulat na wika ni Año, na tinutukoy ang Communist Party of the Philippines, New People’s Army, at National Democratic Front.
“It is just right that people denounce them for their crimes against the people,” aniya pa.
Giniit din ng DILG chief na si CPP founder Jose Maria Sison ang naunang nangred-tag sa mga grupo.
“If you are not a member of the CPP/NPA/NDF, then you have nothing to worry about. How can these be ‘red-tagging’ when they are Communists or Reds by their own admission?,” aniya pa.
Matatandaang pinaalis ni Manila Mayor Isko Moreno ang mga tarpaulin at banner sa nasasakupan niyang lungsod na dinedeklarang “persona non grata” ang CPP-NPA-NDF.
“I welcome such kind of expression to send the message to the CPP-NPA-NDF that they are not welcome in the National Capital Region, just like in other provinces, cities, and municipalities all over the country,” sabi naman ni Año na dating Army general.
