Dahil sa COVID-19: Mga doktor, nurse, bawal mangibang-bansa – POEA

Pinigilan ng Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) ang paglabas sa bansa ng mga healthcare worker kasabay ng nararanasang COVID-19 pandemic sa bansa.

Ayon sa nilabas na Resolution No. 09, series of 2020 ng POEA, sinabi na suspendido muna ang pag-deploy ng mga medical worker sa ibang bansa hangga’t hindi pa natatapos ang national state of emergency, pati na rin ang travel restriction bunsod ng virus outbreak.

Ang nasabing resolusyon ng POEA ay bilang pagsuporta umano sa pagkontrol ng pagkalat ng COVID-19 sa pamamagitan ng pag-regulate ng pangingibang-bansa ng mga Pinoy healthcare worker, at magpokus sa national healthcare system ng ‘Pinas sa panahon ng state of emergency.

Kasama sa mga pipigilan makaalis ng bansa ay mga medical doctor/physician, nurse, microbiologist, molecular biologist, clinical analyst, respiratory therapist, pharmacist, laboratory technician, x-ray/radiologic technician, nursing assistant/nursing aid, operator ng medical equipment, supervisor ng health services at personal care, repairman ng mga medical-hospital equipment.

Sa ilalim ng Bayanihan to Heal as One Act na nilagdaan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, nakasaad sa Section 4(m) ang: “engage temporary Human Resource for Health such as medical and allied medical staff to complement or supplement the current health workforce or to man the temporary medical facilities to be established…”

“It is of paramount national interest to ensure that the country shall continue to have, sustain the supply, and prepare sufficient health personnel to meet any further contingencies, especially to replace, substitute or reinforce existing workforce currently employed, deployed or utilized locally,” saad sa pahayag ng POEA.
