“The Philippine Olympic Committee shares the sentiments expressed by one of its member organizations, the Association of Boxing Alliances of the Philippines (ABAP) regarding the situation prevailing in the site of the Boxing Olympic Qualifying Event, Wuhan, China scheduled on February 3-14, 2020,” ayon sa sulat ng POC.
“The outbreak of a mysterious Coronavirus strain is alarming and we appeal to the International Olympic Committee to seriously consider transferring the venue city and the dates of the tournament.”
“The danger posed by possible contamination is highly risky and we cannot afford to expose not only our delegation, but others as well. Pending definitive word from the World Health Organization, we strongly recommend that the IOC take further steps to mitigate the possibility of any untoward incidents that may arise from the situation,” ani Tolentino.
