Naglabas ng sentimyento ang mga celebrity na sina Bianca Gonzalez at Bela Padilla hinggil sa isyu ng mga social media ‘influencer’ nang mag-anunsyo ang Banana Beach Club resort sa Siargao kamakailan ng pagtanggi na makipag collaborate sa mga ‘self-proclaimed influencer’ na nagpadala ng mga mensahe na nag-ooffer ng collaboration.
Hindi nagbanggit ng pangalan sina Gonzalez at Padilla ngunit mapapansin na tila para sa isang Lance de Ocampo ang kanilang mga tweet.
Matatandaang nanawagan si Ocampo sa beach club sa pamamagitan ng kaniyang Instagram matapos ang naturang anunsiyo.
Binura na ni Ocampo ang kaniya Instagram post at nagbigay ng pahayag na humihingi ng tawad dahil sa naturang post.
Kumalat ang mga screenshot ng naturang IG stories sa social media mula sa Fashion Pulis.
Sa naturang post ay mababasa na dinepensahan ni Ocampo ang role ng mga influencer na ayon umano rito ay may malaking kontribusyon sa paglakas ng turismo ng Siargao.
Ipinahayag nito na hindi umano maaappreciate ang isla ng Siargao kung hindi dahil sa mga “breathtaking and well-curated Instagram photos” ng mga influencer.
Hindi naman sumang-ayon si Padilla sa sinabi ni Ocampo at ipinahayag nga nito sa kaniyang Twitter ang kaniyang komento.
“It’s soooo sad that you felt the need to take credit for a place so beautiful to begin with and would be perfectly fine with or without you,” saad ni Padilla.
“Tsk tsk. [By the way], we all started going to Siargao three years ago NOT because of your posts.”

Ipinahayag din ni Gonzalez ang kaniyang opinyon.
