Tinawag ni Atty. Paolo Panelo, spokesperson ni Vice President Sara Duterte, na desperado at paulit-ulit na umano ang mga kasinungalingang ibinabato ni dating senador Antonio Trillanes IV laban sa pamilya Duterte.
“Antonio Trillanes IV has been peddling the same exhausted lies regarding Extrajudicial Killings (EJKs), fabricated drug links, imaginary unexplained wealth, baseless corruption allegations, and fictional China connections against the Duterte family,” pahayag ni Panelo nitong Sabado, Oktubre 3.
Sinabi rin ni Panelo na ang pag-atras umano ni Trillanes mula sa listahan ng mga testigong nais iharap ng House prosecution panel ay patunay umano na hindi nito kayang panindigan ang mga alegasyon sa ilalim ng cross-examination.
“The moment he was faced with the very first opportunity to test his wild claims against actual facts, verified records, and law through cross-examination by the Vice President’s defense team, Trillanes folded. Instead of defending his claims under oath, he chose the comfort of a safe and scripted press conference where his lies could once again go unchallenged,” aniya.
“This sudden retreat is absolute proof that his claims cannot survive real legal scrutiny, and are nothing but black propaganda,” giit pa ni Panelo.
Sinabi naman ni Panelo na handang sagutin ng defense team ni Duterte ang anumang alegasyon ni Trillanes na ituturing ng prosecution na sapat para isaalang-alang ng Senate impeachment court.
“Confident that the law, the facts, and the evidence are squarely on her side, the Vice President will let the evidence before the Senate Impeachment Court speak for itself,” anang abogado.
Ayon pa kay Panelo, mas nanaisin ng pangalawang pangulo na hayaang magsalita ang mga ebidensiya, batas, at facts sa impeachment court kaysa patulan ang mga pahayag ni Trillanes sa labas ng paglilitis. (AM)
