Nilinaw ni Senador Kiko Pangilinan na wala pang napag-uusapan o napagdedesisyunan ang Senate impeachment court na petsa para sa magiging hatol sa impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte, kabilang ang nabanggit na Disyembre 16.
Ayon kay Pangilinan nitong Sabado, hindi pa pormal o impormal na napag-uusapan ng impeachment court ang timetable ng paglilitis, lalo na ang petsa ng magiging verdict.
“The impeachment court has yet to formally or informally discuss this and has yet to decide on the timetable/timeline of the trial moreso a verdict date of December 16,” anang senador.
Kasunod ito ng pahayag ni Senate impeachment court spokesperson Reginald Tongol na target ng tribunal na magkaroon ng final verdict sa kaso ni Duterte pagsapit ng Disyembre 16.
“This verdict date is merely the opinion of the spokesperson,” ayon kay Pangilinan.
“As Senator Judge, I do not share the opinion of the spokesperson. He has no authority to issue his personal opinions on the Court’s behalf,” dagdag pa niya.
Sa ngayon, nakapagsagawa na ang Senate impeachment tribunal ng 33 araw ng paglilitis at lumipat na sa full-day marathon hearings ngayong buwan ng Oktubre.
Nakalaan sa calendar ng tribunal ang kabuuang 92 trial days, kabilang ang 62 araw para sa House prosecution panel at 30 araw para sa defense team ni Duterte. (AM)
