Inamin ni dating Senador Antonio Trillanes IV na siya ang humiling sa House prosecution panel na pormal nang alisin ang kanyang pangalan bilang testigo ng prosekusyon.
Sa pamamagitan nito, sinabi ni Trillanes na mawawala ang pressure sa prosekusyon subalit magsasagawa umano siya ng press conference sa Biyernes para ilantad ang lahat ng dapat niya sanang ilalabas sa impeachment trial.
“Earlier in the day, I requested the House prosecution under Chair Jinky Luistro to formally withdraw my name as a witness for the prosecution. This way, the prosecution panel would be relieved from the pressure it is going through,” pahayag ni Trillanes sa kanyang Facebook post nitong Huwebes.
“Having said that, magco-conduct ako ng press con bukas para ipresenta lahat ng ilalabas ko dapat sa impeachment trial,” dagdag niya.
Sa pagpapatuloy ng impeachment trial ni Vice President Sara Duterte nitong Huwebes, Oktubre 1, inihayag ni Lead Prosecutor Rep. Gerville Luistro na tinanggal na nila sa listahan ng mga testigo si Trillanes.
Balak ng prosekusyon na iprisenta si Trillanes bilang testigo kaugnay ng bank accounts na inuugnay diumano kay Duterte at iba pang indibidwal. (Dindo Matining)
