Inamin ni DILG Sec. Jonvic Remulla na nagkamali siya nang sabihin na ibinasura ang asylum application ni dating Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
Sa isang panayam sa sidelines ng budget deliberation sa Kamara de Representantes nitong Martes, sinabi ni Remulla na hindi pa aprubado o tinatanggihan ang asylum application ni Roque.
“I was wrong. Ang status nya is in limbo kasi ang normal status nyan (asylum) is six months; yung application, it’s been nine months. Normally, six months malalaman nyo kung denied or accepted. In his case, it’s neither denied nor accepted,” sabi ng kalihim.
“There is no decision. So he is neither accepted nor denied. In purgatory siya eh. In terms of asylum application, nasa purgatory siya,” paglilinaw ni Remulla.
Inihayag ni Remulla na pinag-aaralan ng DILG kung maaaring arestuhin si Roque sakaling maglabas ang Interpol ng red notice laban sa kanya.
“Justice has to be served,” aniya. “We are hoping that the Netherlands will accept our petition to bring him home.”
“We are studying the matter if whether or not there is immunity from the red notice,” dagdag pa ni Remulla. (Billy Begas)
