Tugon ni Remulla, “The process of hiring people is not very easy. That’s one thing that we can tell you. Because there is a screening, a very rigorous screening for those who apply for the office”.

“But the application process, they were only told that they were hired this August, but they applied as early as January and February. So it takes seven months or eight months to actually fill in an item,” saad pa ni Remulla.

“Our office is very small. Physically, our office buildings cannot actually carry a very good setup for lawyers to work in. That’s why we are asking for a new building. We are actually purchasing a new building,” ani Remulla.

“So with our plantilla positions, we actually have more than 2,000 positions in our plantilla. But so far, we only have 1,300-plus people within the office of the Ombudsman, and we are filling it up as we speak,” dagdag pa niya.

“Their credentials are very impressive. But the process actually takes a long time for government to hire people based on the plantilla and all the other rules that come with it, especially, of course, the personnel selection board within the office will also give priority to those who are already within, so that we can promote them. So it really takes a little more time,” ayon pa sa Ombudsman. (Dindo Matining)
