Target ng House prosecution panel na tapusin sa Setyembre 9 ang paglalatag ng ebidensiya kaugnay ng umano’y maling paggamit ng confidential fund ni Vice President Sara Duterte, ayon kay House lead prosecutor at Batangas Rep. Gerville Luistro.
“So just a good news for our senator-judges: we plan to finish the presentation of evidence for confidential funds until September 9, this coming Wednesday,” sabi ni Luistro sa Senate impeachment trial nitong Miyerkules.
Tiniyak ni Luistro sa mga senator-judge na gumagawa rin ng mga hakbang ang prosecution panel upang paikliin ang presentasyon nito.
“On the part of the prosecution, we’re likewise doing our best to be able to expedite the presentation of our evidence,” sabi ni Luistro.
“As a matter of fact, that’s the reason behind why we are always exploring the possibility of entering into stipulation,” dagdag pa nito.
Kabilang sa mga posibleng pag-uusapan para ma-stipulate si dating Department of Education (DepEd) special disbursing officer Edward Fajarda, na hiniling ng prosekusyon sa Senate impeachment court na ipatawag sa paglilitis.
Sinabi ni Luistro na maaaring hindi na ituloy ng prosecution panel ang testimonya ni Fajarda kung sasang-ayon ang depensa sa na bagay na nais nitong ma-stipulate.
Nakumpleto na ng prosecution ang presentasyon ng ebidensya para sa Article IV, na nag-aakusa kay Duterte ng culpable violation of the Constitution, high crimes, at betrayal of public trust kaugnay ng pakikipag-usap umano nito sa isang tao upang patayin sina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, at dating Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez sakaling mapatay siya.
Ang umano’y maling paggamit ng confidential funds ay nasa ilalim ng Article I.
Hindi pa naglalahad ng ebidensya ang prosecution para sa Article II na tumatalakay sa umano’y unexplained wealth at Article III na tumatalakay sa umano’y bribery. (Billy Begas)
