Japanese volleyball star Sarina Koga magreretiro na

Nalungkot ang volleyball community nang ianunsiyo ng star player ng Japan women’s national volleyball team na si Sarina Koga ang kanyang pagreretiro pagkatapos ng 2024 Paris Olympics.

Si Koga ang team captain ng Japanese women’s national volleyball team.

Nag-trending sa X (dating Twitter) ang hashtag na Sarina nitong July 9 matapos ang announcement ng pagreretiro niya sa professional volleyball.

Naging bahagi si Koga ng V.League 1 sa koponang NEC Red Rockets.

Tinulungan niya ang team na makamit ang apat na V1 championships at dalawang Empress Cup titles.

Tatlong MVP awards din ang nasungkit ng star hitter sa V1 at dalawa naman sa Empress Cup.

Sa isang Instagram post, ipinahayag ni Koga ang pasasalamat sa suportang natanggap niya sa buong career niya.

“Thank you for your continued support and encouragement. This is a report to everyone. I have decided to retire from active duty after the Paris Olympics 2024,” ani Koga.

“I started playing volleyball in the second grade of elementary school, and with the help of everyone, I was able to continue playing volleyball until I was 28 years old because I wanted to become even better at volleyball.

“All my experiences and encounters have made me who I am today. Thank you very much,” dagdag pa niya. (IS)
