Nagsumite na ng kanyang courtesy resignation si Office for Transportation Security (OTS) Administrator Ma. O Ranada Aplasca matapos balaan ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez na personal nitong haharangin na maaprubahan ang budget ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) kung hindi magbibitiw.

Ang OTS ay attached agency ng DOTr.

“I am not in any way ready to sacrifice my organization but I consider this as a noble undertaking for a greater interest,” pahayag ni Aplasca sa ipinadalang resignation letter kay Pangulong Bongbong Marcos nitong Setyembre 26.

Iginiit niyang wala siyang ginawang mali kundi ang magsagawa ng tapat na kampanya laban sa katiwalian sa lahat ng paliparan sa bansa.

“It is just unfortunate that as we weed out the scalawags in our ranks, it will always draw media attention and tarnish the reputation of our country.”

Ani Romualdez, nag-ugat ang pagkadismaya niya kay Aplasca matapos ang makailang ulit na nakawan sa mga paliparan.

Saad ng Speaker, dapat nang magsumite si Aplasca ng courtesy resignation sa ilalim ng “principle of command responsibility”.

“Naka-strike three na ang OTS chief. We are already fed up with these reports of stealing and other acts of wrongdoing at the airport, for which OTS officials and their DOTr supervisors are ultimately responsible. A top-to-bottom overhaul is needed,” lahad ni Romualdez.
