“If the Philippine Navy, Armed Forces of the Philippines were to make a request to reinforce and refurbish our BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal, I will support that request,” sabi ni Hontiveros sa isang statement.

“It’s only right to reinforce the presence of our government and nation there in Ayungin Shoal which is part of our Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ),” dagdadag niya.

“As I said, if the AFP asks for funding to reinforce and refurbish the BRP Sierra Madre on Ayungin Shoal, I would support it and will lobby for it together with our colleagues here in the Senate,” ani Hontiveros.

“We can raise this during the debates on the proposed budget of the DND (Department of National Defense and hopefully, this would breeze through and be approved in the final version of the General Appropriations Act (GAA) for 2024,” saad pa niya.

Subalit pinabulaanan ito ng National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea, at maging ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

“So that supposed promise that we made to them to remove the BRP Sierra Madre from Ayungin Shoal, which is within our Exclusive Economic Zone, so that is now in the ranks of their so-called nine-dash line- both and all figments of China’s imagination,” diin pa ng senadora. (Dindo Matining)
