Ang Filipina head chef ng Lolla sa Singapore na si Johanne Siy ang pinarangalang Asia’s Best Female Chef 2023 ng The World’s 50 Best Restaurants.

Si Johanne ay ipinanganak sa Dagupan ngunit iniwan niya ang kanyang corporate career para sa kanyang passion sa pagluluto.

“She trained at The Culinary Institute of America in New York. She also apprenticed under chefs Eric Ripert of Le Bernardin and Daniel Boulud of Café Boulud,” ayon sa 50 Best Stories.

Simula noon, nagkaroon na ng leadership experience si Johanne sa mga pangunahing restaurant sa buong mundo.

Nakapagtrabaho na rin siya sa Restaurant André sa Singapore bago maging head chef ng Lolla noong 2020.

“Siy is justifiably proud of her coronation as Asia’s Best Female Chef 2023,” pahayag nang nabanggit na organisasyon.

“Hailing from a part of the world where women leading kitchens is still something of a novelty, she is happy that her achievements are being recognised. However, she believes that her own personal notoriety is just the tip of the iceberg for female representation in kitchens,” dagdag pa nila.
