Hindi man naging maganda ang performance ng Gilas Pilipinas sa 2019 Fiba World Cup sa kamay ni coach Yeng Guiao, marami pa rin ang nagpasalamat dahil sa ginawang sakripisyo nito para sa bayan.
Ayon kay PBA chief statistician Fidel Mangonon III, si Guiao ang isa sa mga coach na napag-isa ang San Miguel Corp. at kompanya ni Manny V Pangilinan para sa Gilas program.
“Salamat coach Yeng esp for uniting the SMC & MVP groups for the Gilas program at a time when it was needed most #LabanPilipinas,” ayon kay Mangonon.
Ilan pang sports personality ang nagpasalamat kay Guiao dahil sa pagmamando sa national team na hindi madaling responsibilidad para sa isang coach.
